Joining Columbia in 2001, Paul D. Cook, PE, brings over 24 years civil engineering experience to his current roles as Partner, Vice President and Director of Operations.

Mr. Cook’s responsibilities in previous positions with the Alabama Department of Transportation and as County Engineer for Bibb County, Alabama, included staff supervision, developing and managing budgets, and developing and designing plans for roadway new construction and maintenance. In his current role as a Columbia Vice President, he is the managing partner for the Transportation and Water Resources Departments and oversees office operations. His responsibilities also include business development, employee recruitment and retention, and QAQC. He has served as the Engineer of Record on many projects. As a member of the firm’s Board of Directors, Mr. Cook helps guide the overall direction of the company.

Mr. Cook graduated in 1992 from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. He is a Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission certified NPDES Level II Design Professional and holds the Georgia Department of Transportation Worksite Erosion Control Supervisor Certification. Mr. Cook holds professional engineering licenses in Georgia and Alabama and is active in many civic and professional organizations.

Mr. Cook and his wife, Amy, reside in Lilburn with their children.
