Joining Columbia in 1997, Jason B. Hurst, PE, brings over 18 years civil engineering experience to his current roles as Partner and Vice President

Mr. Hurst began his career with Columbia as an entry level engineer. In his current role as Vice President, he is the managing partner for the Commercial / Retail Department of the firm. His responsibilities include business development, project management, and QAQC. He has served as the Engineer of Record on many public and private projects throughout the Southeast.  As a member of the firm’s Board of Directors, Mr. Hurst helps guide the overall direction of the company.

Mr. Hurst graduated in 1996 from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia, with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. He is a Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission certified NPDES Level II Design Professional and is certified by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying. He holds professional engineering licenses in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. Mr. Hurst has been an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers – ICSC for many years and is an alumnus of the ACEC Future Leaders Program.

Mr. Hurst resides in Braselton, Georgia, with his wife and two children.  They enjoy spending their family time participating in outdoor activities such as sailing and backpacking, as well as traveling both domestic and abroad.
