Sunny Brook Lane Drainage Improvement

Sunny Brook Lane was a drainage improvement project at a local intersection roundabout in the City of Sandy Springs. The objective of the project was to resolve local flooding at the intersection while minimizing impacts to existing residents. The proposed design included rebuilding existing curb inlets to current standards and hooded grates to provide maximum efficiency. The city provided CCTV of the existing pipes, and the pipes in acceptable condition were maintained while the others were replaced. The existing alignment was used and larger pipe sizes were used to convey the desired storm event without flooding. Also, permanent downstream erosion control measures were installed to protect the stream banks against future erosion. The project was able to be constructed under traffic with minimal impacts to residents.
