Columbia Engineering landscape architects provided design, construction documentation, and construction assistance to develop a cistern-irrigation system which also met DeKalb County water quality standards for a new building expansion. The unique system included downspout filtration, a concrete vault with submersible pump and floating sensors, and an overflow onto a gravel infiltration trench. Columbia additionally provided site landscape and irrigation design.


Ellsworth Office Redevelopment

Columbia Engineering landscape architects collaborated with the design team for a modern industrial office loft redevelopment within the City of Atlanta’s Beltline corridor. In addition to meeting City of Atlanta standards for landscape and tree protection, Columbia provided specialty native seeding and planting design and specifications for a 6,00 SF bio swale. Columbia also provided ISA Certified Arborist inspections and specifications to ensure the survival of existing trees preserved within new parking areas.

Landscape and irrigation design for a LEED® Gold three-story office building. Columbia performed landscape and irrigation calculations pertaining to cistern design, completed LEED® documentation for submittal to the US Green Building Council, and provided creative solutions to zoning and stormwater requirements by developing and implementing porous pavement details and specifications.
